Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:05AM

Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(up 8.10%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 8.01%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(up 7.56%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 7.30%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 6.36%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 6.10%), Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 5.99%), Ugar Sugar Works Ltd.(up 5.78%), Rana Sugars Ltd.(up 5.68%) and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.(up 5.58%) were among the top gainers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 675.75 points up at 24683.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 2174.82 points at 81629.29 at around 11:05AM.

Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 6.45%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 5.34%), Trent Ltd.(up 4.77%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 4.51%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 4.12%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 4.0%), NTPC Ltd.(up 3.71%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 3.67%), Infosys Ltd.(up 3.58%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 3.46%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 3.43%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.27%) were trading in the red.
