Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:45AM

Mawana Sugars(up 20.00%), Rana Sugars(up 5.84%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 4.39%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 3.95%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 3.44%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 3.30%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 3.12%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 3.06%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.96%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 2.32%) were among the top gainers.

Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 3.85 points up at 17356.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 71.07 points at 58070.98 at around 10:45AM.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.84%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.35%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.25%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.8%), Grasim Industries(up 1.61%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.52%), HDFC(up 1.31%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.28%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.2%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.01%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.5%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.39%), State Bank of India(down 1.08%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.96%), ICICI Bank(down 0.86%), Eicher Motors(down 0.75%), Shree Cement(down 0.59%), Tata Steel(down 0.54%), Britannia Industries(down 0.54%) and Tata Motors(down 0.41%) were trading in the red.
