Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Friday's session.
Simbhaoli Sugars(up 4.67%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 2.02%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.69%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.79%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.64%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.43%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.09%) and AVADHSUGAR(up 0.06%) stood among the top gainers.
Sakthi Sugars(down 2.66%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.73%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 1.56%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 1.37%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 1.31%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.22%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 1.13%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.92%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.61%) and BAJAJHIND(down 0.34%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 149.95 points up at 18065.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 463.06 points at 61112.44.
Adani Enterprises(up 3.88%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 3.27%), Britannia Industries(up 3.12%), Nestle India(up 2.9%), Wipro(up 2.83%), Larsen & Toubro(up 2.55%), State Bank of India(up 2.4%), ITC(up 2.3%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.3%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.18%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, closed in the red.
