Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Friday at 11:10AM
Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 2.71%), EID Parry(up 2.39%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 1.31%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 0.42%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.42%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 0.16%) were among the top gainers.
Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 3.84%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.77%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 2.56%), Rana Sugars(down 2.52%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 2.41%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.97%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 1.71%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.69%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.62%) and KCP Sugar & Industries(down 1.43%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 352.5 points down at 16145.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 1172.44 points at 53930.24 at around 11:10AM.
UPL Ltd(up 2.29%), ITC(up 0.5%), Tata Steel(up 0.23%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.17%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.03%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 6.62%), Maruti Suzuki(down 6.13%), Hindustan Unilever(down 5.04%), Hero MotoCorp(down 4.45%), Titan Company Ltd(down 4.22%), Eicher Motors(down 4.13%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 3.86%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 3.62%), Bajaj Finance(down 3.62%) and Axis Bank(down 3.48%) were trading in the red.
