Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 09:59AM

Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(up 0.05%) were among the top gainers.

KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 3.26%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.(down 2.49%), Ugar Sugar Works Ltd.(down 2.04%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 1.81%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(down 1.80%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(down 1.53%), EID Parry(India)Ltd.(down 1.29%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(down 1.17%), Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 1.13%) and Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd.(down 1.07%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 234.96 points down at 24766.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 814.7 points at 81361.75 at around 09:59AM.

Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 0.51%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 2.08%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.94%), Eternal Ltd.(down 1.61%), NTPC Ltd.(down 1.45%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.38%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.35%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.35%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.23%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.19%) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.18%) were trading in the red.
