Stock market update: Stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE in today's trade

MRPL, Texmaco Rail, Chennai Petro, Meghmani Finechem Ltd. and Southern Petro, hit their fresh 52-week highs during the day.

NEW DELHI: Shares of MRPL, Texmaco Rail, Chennai Petro, Meghmani Finechem Ltd. and Southern Petro, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Wednesday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 177.9 points up at 17136.55 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Akash Infra-Proj, Felix Industries, INEOS Styrolution, Birla Tyres and OrissaBengalCarrier, touched their fresh 52-week lows.


Overall, 37 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 13 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, BPCL, Tata Motors, Shree Cements, UltraTech Cem. and Eicher Motors were among top gainers during the day, while Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, JSW Steel and Tata Steel ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 574.35 points up at 57037.50.

Traders piled up positions in Telecommunications, Cement, Tea / Coffee, Auto and Diversified sectors, while selling was witnessed in Tourism & Hospitality, Agro Processing, IT - Hardware, Infrastructure and Industrial Consumables sectors during the day.
