Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:50AM

RTNPOWER(up 4.88%), Indowind Energy(up 4.82%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 3.84%), PIGL(up 3.84%), KEC International(up 3.56%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 3.30%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 3.28%), Torrent Power(up 3.00%), Karma Energy(up 2.49%) and Reliance Power(up 2.43%) were among the top gainers.

Orient Green Power Company(down 4.72%) and Inox wind(down 0.69%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 232.4 points up at 17144.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 800.76 points at 57547.9 at around 10:50AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 3.64%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 3.17%), Axis Bank(up 2.78%), ICICI Bank(up 2.69%), Bajaj Finance(up 2.39%), Tata Steel(up 2.21%), JSW Steel(up 2.02%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.92%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.83%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.81%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, SBI Life(down 0.64%), Asian Paints(down 0.31%), Cipla(down 0.2%) and Bharti Airtel(down 0.09%) were trading in the red.
