NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Wednesday's session.
Orient Green Power Company Ltd.(up 9.60%), NLC India Ltd.(up 6.22%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(up 4.95%), GE T&D India Ltd.(up 4.91%), Neueon Towers Ltd.(up 4.88%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(up 4.81%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 4.41%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(up 3.96%) and Inox Wind Ltd.(up 3.89%) stood among the top gainers.
Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(down 5.00%), Karma Energy Ltd.(down 1.95%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(down 1.47%), Indowind Energy Ltd.(down 0.66%) and Energy Development Company Ltd.(down 0.41%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 304.96 points up at 24297.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 874.94 points at 79468.01.
Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 7.52%), Coal India Ltd.(up 6.39%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 3.69%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 3.33%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 3.32%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 3.12%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.98%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.68%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.54%) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.47%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.6%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.22%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.66%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.31%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.27%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.22%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 0.13%) and Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.01%) closed in the red.
