Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:14AM

ACME Solar Holdings Ltd.(up 7.79%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 3.86%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(up 3.09%), NTPC Green Energy Ltd.(up 2.44%), Adani Green Energy Ltd.(up 2.09%), Karma Energy Ltd.(up 2.02%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 1.88%), GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd.(up 1.83%), SJVN Ltd.(up 1.51%) and NHPC Ltd.(up 1.48%) were among the top gainers.

Reliance Power Ltd.(down 4.81%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(down 2.61%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 1.99%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(down 1.76%), Ravindra Energy Ltd.(down 1.75%), Transrail Lighting Ltd.(down 1.66%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 1.50%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 1.45%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd.(down 1.10%) and Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 0.99%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 31.71 points down at 24805.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 149.73 points at 81313.36 at around 11:14AM.

Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.41%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.96%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.34%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.16%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.15%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.1%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.97%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.94%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.89%) and Trent Ltd.(up 0.83%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 6.4%), Wipro Ltd.(down 2.96%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 1.75%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.43%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 1.08%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.08%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.02%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.01%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.94%) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.9%) were trading in the red.
