Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Friday's session.
Indo Tech Transformers(up 2.35%), Energy Development Company(up 2.30%), CESC(up 1.18%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.01%), Alstom T&D India(up 0.65%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 0.59%), Indowind Energy(up 0.38%) and Torrent Power(up 0.07%) stood among the top gainers.
Adani Transmissions(down 10.00%), ADANIGREEN(down 10.00%), Adani Power(down 5.00%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.76%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.57%), Voltamp Transformers(down 3.95%), Inox Wind Energy(down 3.81%), KPI Green Energy(down 2.66%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 2.33%) and JSW Energy(down 2.15%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 243.65 points up at 17854.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 909.64 points at 60841.88.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 7.87%), Titan Company Ltd(up 6.72%), Bajaj Finance(up 5.19%), Bajaj Finserv(up 5.15%), HDFC Bank(up 3.46%), HDFC(up 3.11%), Eicher Motors(up 3.09%), State Bank of India(up 3.05%), UPL Ltd(up 2.77%) and SBI Life(up 2.76%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 11.71%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.66%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.43%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.24%), NTPC(down 0.81%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.77%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.53%), Wipro(down 0.38%), HCL Technologies(down 0.3%) and Cipla(down 0.29%) closed in the red.
