Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Friday's session.
Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 36.27%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 9.79%), KKV Agro Powers Ltd.(up 8.07%), Karma Energy(up 4.95%), Indowind Energy(up 4.93%), Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(up 3.08%), Reliance Power(up 3.01%), Inox wind(up 2.02%), Voltamp Transformers(up 2.02%) and GE Power India Limited(up 1.39%) stood among the top gainers.
Adani Energy Solutions(down 5.61%), Adani Power(down 5.09%), ADANIGREEN(down 4.55%), Torrent Power(down 3.71%), Orient Green Power Company(down 3.59%), Kalpataru Projects International(down 3.42%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 2.53%), SJVN(down 2.48%), NLC India(down 2.09%) and PTC India(down 1.93%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 68.25 points up at 20969.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 303.91 points at 69825.6.
HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.71%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 2.54%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.46%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.72%), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.72%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.39%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.37%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.19%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.18%) and Wipro Ltd.(up 1.04%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.25%), ITC Ltd.(down 1.95%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.6%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.5%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.48%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.47%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.42%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.4%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.13%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.07%) closed in the red.
