Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed in the Wednesday's session.

Neueon Towers Ltd.(up 4.75%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 4.75%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 0.56%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 0.28%) stood among the top gainers.

Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(down 6.42%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(down 5.76%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 5.04%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd.(down 5.02%), Reliance Power Ltd.(down 5.01%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(down 5.01%), Ravindra Energy Ltd.(down 5.00%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd.(down 4.75%), KKV Agro Powers Ltd.(down 4.63%) and KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 4.12%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 324.41 points at 23559.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 984.23 points at 77690.95.

NTPC Ltd.(up 0.28%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 4.34%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.22%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.09%) and ITC Ltd.(down 0.14%) closed in the red.
