Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:14AM
GE Power India Ltd.(up 5.00%), KKV Agro Powers Ltd.(up 4.96%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 3.44%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 0.60%) and Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 0.41%) were among the top gainers.
Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(down 6.82%), Neueon Towers Ltd.(down 5.20%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(down 5.04%), Reliance Power Ltd.(down 4.77%), Ravindra Energy Ltd.(down 4.55%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 4.50%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(down 4.07%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(down 4.02%), KEC International Ltd.(down 4.02%) and Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 3.89%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 458.9 points at 23845.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 1409.3 points at 78314.82 at around 11:14AM.
Cipla Ltd.(up 1.06%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.84%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.7%) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.44%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 5.22%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 4.83%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 4.15%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 4.0%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 3.97%), NTPC Ltd.(down 3.89%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 3.88%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 3.8%), Coal India Ltd.(down 3.63%) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 3.5%) were trading in the red.
