Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:49AM

Neueon Towers Ltd.(up 5.01%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 2.53%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 2.00%) and Karma Energy Ltd.(up 0.79%) were among the top gainers.

India Power Corporation Ltd.(down 6.33%), KEC International Ltd.(down 5.93%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(down 5.62%), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(down 5.13%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 5.03%), Reliance Power Ltd.(down 5.01%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(down 4.96%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(down 4.95%), PTC India Ltd.(down 4.85%) and Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(down 4.72%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 554.71 points down at 24163.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 1848.38 points at 79133.57 at around 10:49AM.

Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.73%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.22%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.12%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.08%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.85%) and Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.37%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd.(down 5.23%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 4.64%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 4.38%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 3.99%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 3.96%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 3.92%), Infosys Ltd.(down 3.9%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 3.7%) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 3.56%) were trading in the red.
