Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.43%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent), DLF Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) and Sobha Ltd.(up 0.05 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sunteck Realty Ltd.(down 3.2 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(down 3.16 per cent), Macrotech Developers Ltd.(down 3.08 per cent), Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.26 per cent) and Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 1.8 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.43 per cent down at 1099.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 147.5 points at 23868.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 620.73 points at 78674.25.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Vedanta, YES Bank, Indian Renewable and India Cements were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Fiberweb India, Somi Conveyor, Amines Plastic, Precot Meridian and AGC Networks hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain, Sarthak Metals, GIR Natureview, Lakshmi Precis and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
