Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.3%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Thursday.

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects(up 1.46 per cent) and Macrotech Developers(up 0.57 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises(down 3.24 per cent), Phoenix Mills(down 2.26 per cent), DLF(down 1.84 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 1.61 per cent) and Oberoi Realty(down 1.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Realty index closed 1.3 per cent down at 446.55.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 245.4 points at 18414.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 878.88 points at 61799.03.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, UCO Bank, IOB and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Madras Fert, FACT, Indbank Merc, Aries Agro and National Fert hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Cerebra Integrat, Ishan International Ltd., Supreme Engineering, Osia Hyper Retail and Sintex Inds. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
