Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.09%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 2.26 per cent) and Phoenix Mills Ltd.(up 0.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Swan Energy Ltd.(down 3.46 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 2.81 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 2.6 per cent), Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 2.13 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.01 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Realty index closed 1.09 per cent down at 942.05.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 246.91 points at 22272.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 845.12 points at 73399.78.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 ended in the green, while 44 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, ONGC and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Senco Gold, Ashiana Housing, Selan Expl Tech, Puravankara and Mahalaxmi Rub hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, Best Agrolife, SRM Contractors, Gopal Snacks and Rana Sugars hit their fresh 52-week lows.
