Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.09%

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.09 per cent down at 906.55.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Sobha Ltd.(down 4.36 per cent), Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(down 4.26 per cent), Swan Energy Ltd.(down 2.48 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(down 1.8 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 1.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Realty index closed 1.09 per cent down at 906.55.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 160.9 points at 22332.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 616.75 points at 73502.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Infibeam Avenues, Jio Financial Servic and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Godfrey Philips, Chemfab Alkalis, KEC Int., Jio Financial Servic and Kirloskar Bros. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vibhor Steel Tubes, GRM Overseas, HMA Agro Industries, Exicom Tele-Systems and Ibull Housing Fin(PP)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
