Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.85%

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.85 per cent down at 383.0.

Retail and banking stocks rose 0.5 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers(up 1.68 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 0.95 per cent), Sunteck Realty(up 0.94 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 0.24 per cent) and SOBHA(up 0.21 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Phoenix Mills(down 4.53 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(down 1.74 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 1.57 per cent), Oberoi Realty(down 0.77 per cent) and DLF(down 0.48 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Realty index closed 0.85 per cent down at 383.0.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 71.15 points at 16972.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 344.29 points at 57555.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Adani Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GI Engineering, Foseco India, Ramkrishna Forg, Vera Synthetic and Network People Services Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while North Eastern, Agarwal Float Glass India Ltd., Brightcom Group, Future Consumer and Ishan International Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
