Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 2.58%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.
Shares of Sobha Ltd.(up 5.88 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 3.59 per cent), Oberoi Realty Ltd.(up 3.58 per cent), Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 3.34 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 2.64 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Swan Energy Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 2.58 per cent up at 957.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 31.6 points at 22368.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 89.83 points at 73738.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Easy Trip Planners and Tata Tele were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Smartlink Holdings, Tejas Networks, Sudarshan Chemical, Cochin Shipyard and Indraprastha Med hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tembo Global Indust, Atal Realtech, Best Agrolife, GIR Natureview and Lakshmi Precis hit their fresh 52-week lows.
