Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.98%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Thursday.
Shares of Prestige Estates Projects(up 4.49 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 3.99 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 3.16 per cent), DLF(up 2.5 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 1.64 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Phoenix Mills(down 0.73 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.98 per cent up at 459.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 54.15 points at 18812.5, while the BSE Sensex stood up 184.54 points at 63284.19.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Suzlon Energy, PNB, JP Power and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Axita Cotton, HPL Electric Power, Salasar Techno Engg, Dhanlaxmi Bank and HLV Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Indiabulls Intgrtd, FutureLifestyleFash, Dhanuka Realty, Vital Chemtech Ltd. and Proseed India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
