Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.72%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.
Shares of Phoenix Mills(up 5.55 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 2.25 per cent), DLF(up 1.74 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 1.49 per cent) and Oberoi Realty(up 0.72 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 0.34 per cent) and Macrotech Developers(down 0.11 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.72 per cent up at 425.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 175.15 points at 17486.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 549.62 points at 58960.6.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, BHEL, Motherson Sumi, PNB and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Satin Creditcare, Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd., Electronics Mart India Ltd., Data Patterns(India)Ltd. and Best Agrolife hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Motherson Sumi, Omkar Speciality, Penta Gold, Akshar Spintex and C&C Construct hit their fresh 52-week lows.
