Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.72%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Phoenix Mills(up 3.8 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 2.33 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 2.13 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 1.69 per cent) and DLF(up 1.66 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 0.93 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.72 per cent up at 509.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 293.05 points at 17469.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1016.03 points at 58649.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 ended in the green, while 5 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, HFCL, Suzlon Energy and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Motor Gen Fin, Rajdarshan Ind, Bajaj Healthcare, Rel Ind Infra and IFCI hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Whirlpool India, Dhruv Consultancy, Laxmi Cotspin and Marine Electricals hit their fresh 52-week lows.
