Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.15% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index traded positive around 10:39AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.
Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 3.6 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(up 2.43 per cent), Phoenix Mills Ltd.(up 2.25 per cent), Swan Energy Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent) and DLF Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(down 3.69 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Realty index was up 1.15 per cent at 827.5 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 142.41 points at 21311.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 542.57 points at 70517.74.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, NBCC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Malu Paper Mill, Nirvikara Paper Mill, Urja Global, Manaksia Aluminium and Oswal Green Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shyam Telecom, Nxtdigital, Fedbank Financial, Flair Writing Indust and Medi Assist Healthca hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
