Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.12%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Thursday.
Shares of Phoenix Mills Ltd.(up 2.8 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 1.65 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent) and Oberoi Realty Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent), Sobha Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent) and Raymond Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.12 per cent up at 855.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 19.75 points at 22913.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 203.22 points at 75735.96.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Piramal Pharma, NHPC, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Deccan Cements, Denta Water and Infr, Shree Rama News, Nitiraj Engineers and Madhya Bharat Agro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Suratwwala Business, Ankit Metal Pwr, Sanco Industries, Astron Paper & Board and Par Drugs & Chemical hit their fresh 52-week lows.
