Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.73%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.
Shares of Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(up 0.69 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(up 0.29 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Macrotech Developers Ltd.(down 3.6 per cent), Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent), Swan Energy Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent) and Sobha Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 0.73 per cent up at 783.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 47.3 points at 21731.4, while the BSE Sensex stood down 170.12 points at 72240.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, Reliance Power and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Alok Industries, VST Industries, Sanginita Chemicals, Akash Infra-Proj and GTL Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bajel Projects, Akshar Spintex, IKIO Lighting, Raj Rayon and Flair Writing Indust hit their fresh 52-week lows.
