Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.59%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Phoenix Mills(up 3.56 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 3.11 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 2.72 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 0.79 per cent) and DLF(up 0.47 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises(down 3.68 per cent) and Godrej Properties(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 0.59 per cent up at 467.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 197.05 points at 17463.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 657.39 points at 58465.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, Adani Wilmar Ltd. and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Adani Wilmar Ltd., Ugar Sugar Work, Weizmann Ltd, Deep Industries Ltd. and Jagran Prakashan hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Atal Realtech, Orchid Pharma, Precision Metaliks Ltd. and Uniinfo Telecom Serv hit their fresh 52-week lows.
