Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.55%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Phoenix Mills(up 5.72 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 2.57 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 1.53 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 0.62 per cent) and Oberoi Realty(up 0.22 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Macrotech Developers(down 3.61 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(down 0.83 per cent) and DLF(down 0.03 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 0.55 per cent up at 449.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 177.9 points at 17136.55, while the BSE Sensex stood up 574.35 points at 57037.5.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 ended in the green, while 13 closed in the red.
Shares of MRPL, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Power and Coal India Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of MRPL, Texmaco Rail, Chennai Petro, Meghmani Finechem Ltd. and Southern Petro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akash Infra-Proj, Felix Industries, INEOS Styrolution, Birla Tyres and OrissaBengalCarrier hit their fresh 52-week lows.
