NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a note on Wednesday.
Shares of Sobha Ltd.(up 3.46 per cent), Phoenix Mills Ltd.(up 3.18 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 2.58 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.45 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 2.88 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(down 2.45 per cent), Sunteck Realty Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent) and Macrotech Developers Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 0.08 per cent at 1001.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 126.0 points at 24340.85, while the BSE Sensex stood 426.85 points at 79942.18.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IRFC, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Gala Precision Engin, Jagsonpal Pharm, T T Ltd, Poly Medicure and UTI AMC hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shankar Lal Rampal, Akshar Spintex, OCCL Ltd., Zenith Exports and Sheela Foam hit their fresh 52-week lows.
