Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.92%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.
Shares of Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.61 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Biocon Ltd.(down 4.02 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.71 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 3.65 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 3.57 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(down 3.52 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.92 per cent down at 20385.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 117.25 points at 22795.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 424.9 points at 75311.06.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, SAIL and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Deccan Cements, Shree Rama News, Hexaware Technologie, Camlin Fine Sc and Blue Coast Hotel hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Suratwwala Business, International Gemmol, AGS Transact Tech, M M Forgings and OneSource Specialty hit their fresh 52-week lows.
