Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.78% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:07AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 5.18 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 4.95 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 4.59 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 4.51 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 4.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.78 per cent at 20015.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 168.8 points at 22367.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 470.38 points at 73756.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Steel, YES Bank, NMDC and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of TECIL Chemicals, Keynote Financial, NACL Industries, Shree Rama News and InterGlobe hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nectar Lifesc, Universal Cable, Carraro India L, Gujarat Lease and Gensol Engg hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
