Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.69% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Strides Pharma Science(up 1.61 per cent), Granules India(up 0.84 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 0.46 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.23 per cent) and Pfizer(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 3.95 per cent), Laurus(down 2.34 per cent), Cipla(down 2.29 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.92 per cent) and Biocon(down 1.83 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.69 per cent at 11863.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 41.0 points at 15319.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 1045.6 points at 51495.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and RBL Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Globesecure Technologies Ltd., Kohinoor Foods, Archidply Decor, GSS Infotech and Visa Steel Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Biofil Chem, Le Merite Exports Ltd., Team Lease Service, Vivimed Labs and Vardhman Poly hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
