Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.56% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:44AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 4.3 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Lupin Ltd.(down 6.78 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 3.82 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.38 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.56 per cent at 19015.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 67.0 points at 22664.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 214.53 points at 74435.59.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC, Rail Vikas Nigam and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GRSE, Elgi Rubber Co, Cochin Shipyard, PG Electroplast and Excel Realty N Infra hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while United Polyfab Gujar, Brightcom Group, Infomedia Press, GSS Infotech and SAB Events & Governance hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
