Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.36% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Ipca Laboratories(up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Natco Pharma(down 2.98 per cent), Cadila Healthcare(down 2.72 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 2.32 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 2.28 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 2.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.36 per cent at 12853.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 265.15 points at 16941.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 903.41 points at 56780.18.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 3 were trading in the green, while 47 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Dhani Ibull Ventures, JP Power and Ibull Housing Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ion Exchange, Jagsonpal Pharm, Agri-Tech(India), Univastu India and The Western India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dhani Ibull Ventures, Indiabulls Intgrtd, Restaurant Brands Asia Ltd., Take Solutions and IRIS Business Servic hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
