Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.18%

The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.18 per cent down at 12341.9.

Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.

Shares of Ipca Laboratories(up 1.89 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.52 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 0.87 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 3.27 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 3.25 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 2.74 per cent), Laurus(down 2.61 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 2.31 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.18 per cent down at 12341.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 147.15 points at 16483.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 497.73 points at 55268.49.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 37 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Archidply Ind, Artemis Medicare Services Ltd., eMudhra Ltd., Kirloskar Elec and Marathon Nextgen hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tanla Solutions, Zomato Ltd., Sterlite Tech, Indostar Cap. Fin. and Policy Bazaar hit their fresh 52-week lows.
