Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.09% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:40AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Cipla Ltd.(up 0.39 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Lupin Ltd.(down 3.71 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 3.62 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.42 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.2 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 2.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.09 per cent at 21430.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 107.35 points at 23274.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 344.95 points at 76966.85.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, NALCO, Zomato, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indo Thai Sec, Norben Tea Exp, Aarvee Denims, Capital Infra Trust and Camlin Fine Sc hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NGL Fine Chem, Electronics Mart Ind, Dharmaj Crop Guard, Kavita Fabrics and NRB Bearings hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
