Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.04% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Pfizer(down 1.92 per cent), Lupin(down 1.73 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.41 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.4 per cent) and Biocon(down 1.38 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.04 per cent at 13304.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 149.35 points at 17051.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 433.17 points at 56923.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, YES Bank, Adani Wilmar Ltd. and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Agro Phos India, SEL Manufact, Zenith Birla, International Constructions Ltd. and Bigbloc Const hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Karda Const, FutureLifestyleFash, Uma Exports Ltd., Future Retail and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
