Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.89% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Sanofi India Ltd.(up 0.85 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.38 per cent) and Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 0.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 3.0 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.15 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 2.1 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 2.01 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.99 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.89 per cent at 20583.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 130.4 points at 24670.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 285.25 points at 81058.21.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Teleservices, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of VST Industries, Krebs Biochem, Tata Teleservices, MTNL and Macpower CNC Machine hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nakoda Group Of Ind(PP), Sah Polymers, Akme Fintrade(India, Allied Blenders and IRIS Clothings hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
