Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.84% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:49AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 3.49 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent) and Pfizer Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Biocon Ltd.(down 2.38 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.99 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.61 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.84 per cent at 18877.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 20.46 points at 22101.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 36.84 points at 72745.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, Zomato and HFCL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Airo Lam, Zaggle Prepaid Ocean, Snowman Logistics, Taj GVK Hotels and Uniinfo Telecom Serv hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Madhya Bharat Agro, Shree Vasu Logistics, Vaxtex Cotfab, GIR Natureview and S & S Power Switch hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
