Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.77% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 2.46 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.03 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.77 per cent at 21367.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 63.1 points at 24316.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 180.81 points at 80460.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power and Vishal Mega Mart were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of BSE, Reliance Naval & Engg, Bharti Airtel(PP), Anupam Rasayan India and Vishal Mega Mart hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Setubandhan Infra, Godha Cabcon & Insul, GI Engineering, AGS Transact Tech and Gujarat Lease hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
