Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.73%

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.73 per cent down at 12454.35.

India 10-year bond yield rose 0.05 per cent to 6.03 after trading in 6.02-6.04 range.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.03 per cent), Lupin(up 0.99 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 0.62 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 0.58 per cent) and Sanofi India(up 0.55 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Ipca Laboratories(down 1.68 per cent), Laurus(down 1.6 per cent), Biocon(down 1.4 per cent), Cipla(down 1.32 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.29 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.73 per cent down at 12454.35.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 119.35 points at 17743.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 401.04 points at 60056.1.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Vodafone Idea and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Eimco Elecon, Rail Vikas Nigam, Tara Chand Logistic, Power Mech Proj and Viviana Power Tech Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Pashupati Cotspin, Gangotri Text, Omkar Speciality, BEML Land Assets and Parin Furniture hit their fresh 52-week lows.
