Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.73%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.

Shares of Granules India(up 0.66 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.42 per cent) and Natco Pharma(up 0.26 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Biocon(down 1.71 per cent), Laurus(down 1.29 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.15 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.13 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 1.11 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.73 per cent down at 12606.45.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 80.2 points at 18027.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 236.66 points at 60621.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 ended in the green, while 38 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PNB, Vodafone Idea and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Baid Leasing, Arihant Academy Ltd., Hisar Metal Ind, Sterling Tools and Shreeoswal Seeds hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kiri Industries, Sanwaria Consumer, Ballarpur Inds., Nupur Recyclers Ltd. and Venus Remedies hit their fresh 52-week lows.
