Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.67% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:29AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.
Granules India Ltd.(up 1.69 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.59 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.41 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 4.26 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 3.46 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(down 3.01 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 2.41 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.67 per cent at 20828.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 88.11 points at 23033.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 305.61 points at 76273.0.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, RVNL and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of MPS Ltd, Norben Tea Exp, Shree Cements, Aarti Pharmalabs and Mahamaya Steel hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Suratwwala Business, Revathi Equipment In, Best Agrolife, Ganga Forging and Globale Tessile hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
