Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.66%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of Gland Pharma(up 2.88 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.6 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.7 per cent) and Granules India(up 0.58 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Laurus(down 3.26 per cent), Cipla(down 2.88 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 2.58 per cent), Biocon(down 2.46 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 1.84 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.66 per cent down at 12682.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 18.45 points at 17895.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 9.98 points at 60105.5.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, PNB, IOB and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Generic Engg, Indiabulls Enterprises Ltd., Sky Gold, Trans & Rectif and 3P Land Holdings hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Jyoti Structure, Laurus Labs, Acrysil and Nureca Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
