Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.28% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Natco Pharma(up 1.31 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.94 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.93 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.79 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences(up 0.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Biocon(down 2.61 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 2.0 per cent), Lupin(down 1.65 per cent), Granules India(down 1.23 per cent) and Laurus(down 0.96 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.28 per cent at 11849.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 37.85 points at 16947.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 90.86 points at 57563.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Shivalik Bimetal, Career Point, Network People Services Technologies Ltd., W S Industries and DRC Systems India Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Arham Technologies Ltd., Future Consumer, Jet Knitwears, Setco Automotive and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
