Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.28% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:40AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 3.54 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 1.55 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 1.4 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.34 per cent) and J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.6 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.66 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.28 per cent at 22602.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 63.05 points at 25132.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 185.56 points at 82385.35.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Network18 Media, Ola Electric Mobilit and RattanIndia Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Fischer Chemic, Magellanic Cloud, Sangam Renewables, Mas Fin Services and NACL Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while LCC Infotech, HDB Financial Servic, Vipul Ltd, Welspun Investments and Shree Vasu Logistics hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
