Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.27% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:27AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 2.36 per cent), Cipla(up 0.79 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 0.58 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 0.57 per cent) and Natco Pharma(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.44 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 1.38 per cent), Laurus(down 0.77 per cent), Granules India(down 0.41 per cent) and Abbott India(down 0.34 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.27 per cent at 13010.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 31.65 points at 18758.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 121.29 points at 63264.25.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dynamic Services, JBM Auto, Sahyadri Ind, Crayons Advertising and Nirman Agri Genetics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NIIT, Parin Furniture, Auro Impex & Chemic, Praxis Home Retail and Cerebra Integrat hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
