Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.26%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Gland Pharma(up 1.62 per cent), Granules India(up 0.46 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 0.43 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.2 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(up 0.17 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Biocon(down 1.45 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.88 per cent), Lupin(down 0.76 per cent), Laurus(down 0.73 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.69 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.26 per cent down at 13052.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 4.95 points at 18701.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 33.9 points at 62834.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, JP Power, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Satin Creditcare, Vasa Retail & Overse, Indian Terrain, TTK Healthcare and JK Lakshmi Cement hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aakash Exploration, Dhanuka Realty, Quintegra Sol, Rajvir Ind and Wanbury Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows.
