Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.14%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 5.4 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 2.22 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 1.67 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 1.48 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.53 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 1.36 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.8 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.14 per cent down at 22546.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 41.3 points at 24811.5, while the BSE Sensex stood up 147.89 points at 81053.19.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, Alok Industries, RattanIndia Power and Ola Electric Mobilit were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Jet Freight Logistic, TVS Electronics, Lypsa Gems, Bal Pharma and STL Global hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Saraswati Saree Depo, IRB InvIT Fund, Divgi Torqtransfer, GIR Natureview and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
