Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.12%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 4.94 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 2.97 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 2.54 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(up 1.69 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.64 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.12 per cent down at 17380.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 28.5 points at 21647.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 63.47 points at 71721.18.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Easy Trip Planners, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Vodafone Idea and TV18 Broadcast were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Allied Digital, Imagicaaworld Entert, RBZ Jewellers, Manaksia Steels and Manaksia Aluminium hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Digidrive Distributo, Raj Rayon, Happy Forgings, Gandhar Oil Refinery and IndInfravit Trust hit their fresh 52-week lows.
